Teacher – Senior Mathematics 
Full-time, Continuing

Shalom College is currently seeking to employ a highly motivated Senior Mathematics Teacher starting Term 1, 2021. Experience in teaching Year 11/12 General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics, is desirable.

Librarian
Full-Time, Continuing
Starting Term1, 2021
 

Shalom is a Catholic Secondary College, with an enrolment of nearly 1600, with a waiting list.  Shalom College provides excellent benefits for staff including professional and career development opportunities that build personal and organisational capability. We celebrate diversity in our workforce, and value the knowledge and skills employees bring to the workplace. Our staff are recognised as being central to achieving our mission and are highly valued by the College community. Shalom has two libraries which are well resourced and continually focussed on inspiring and supporting the learning of all. The applicant would need highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills to build positive relationships across the two libraries and ultimately, the College, with a focus on the holistic development of our students. The position would be a Full Time, Continuing, Level 6 or 7 position, depending on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities for the right applicant could include -

  • Development of welcoming and inclusive library services for students and staff
  • Development and management of budget and purchasing of school resources including Library collections
  • Teacher Resources (in collaboration with teachers)
  • Textbook requirements (in collaboration with teachers)
  • Developing standardised procedures in relation to ongoing library systems and maintenance  
  • Creation of library orientation lesson plans and training classes as directed by teachers
  • Development of future library services and broader projects, to inspire and support student learning
  • Management of staff and their duties including organisation of regular Professional Development programs
  • Work with leadership and department heads to develop literacy programs in line with curriculum requirements
  • Copyright legislation management if required
